Oscar Resource for Developers and Administrators
Oscar_mcmaster is a GPLd open-source electronic medical record system developed in Ontario, Canada and is not to be confused with the Open Source Cluster Application Resources. The Oscar EMR project's
official site is maintained at
http://www.oscarmcmaster.org.
What you are reading is largely a personal reference but I am happy for it to be merged elsewhere if it proves useful. It is an "unofficial" convergence of a need to assemble some documentation with the kindness of some people from the GNUmed project.
While a user manual is under development at the official site, there are -- so far -- no overview documents or specifications available to anyone who would like to tinker with Oscar, just an outdated README, and snatches of inline comments.
Neither this nor anything else written here is a criticism. I believe this and other FLOSS projects need to be understood for their merits, and we should keep in mind that improvements are always possible.
Addendum (Aug 17 2009): potentially helpful link to a
schema-reader for Oscar.
