== Synopsis ==

This GNUmed client plugin supports keeping records of implanted cardiac device interrogations.

== Short description ==

This GNUmed client plugin supports keeping records of implanted cardiac device interrogations.
When interrogating a pacemaker or defibrillator historic and current data is retrieved and evaluated
to either keep the programmed settings or adapt them to enhance the patient's condition. This plugin
will enable the physician to keep a record of cardiac events and the device status over the device's
lifetime. It is aimed at facilitating informed programming based on past and current cardiac settings
in the light of cardiac events.

== Longer explanation ==

The plugin will sport an timeline based overview of past events as well
a quick entry mechanisms for input of the current device parameters. The plugin is intended to display
the currently active setting even for corner cases where more than one device is implanted. Its goal is
to track the longevity of pacemaker leads as well as their status (activated, deactivated, explanted,
kept but unused, remaining but chopped of). Future versions might retrieve their data from manufacturer's
programmers or session data saved on removable media.

== Code ==

The latest code can always be found in the GNUmed GIT tree. However since we have switched to GIT
developers can develop code on their own computer so the version in the public tree might not be the latest
code. The wxglade file is called wxgCardiacDevicePluginPnl.wxg. The source code can be viewed here.

=== Where to get it? ===

The latest code can always be retrieved from GIT. More information is available at SourcesFromVcsOnGnuLinux

=== How to build it? ===

You should get wxglade and load the wxg file in there.

== Miscellaneous information ==

=== How to install it? ===

The plugin needs to be registered with the database so this plugin is loaded when a given workplace is called
for by the client software. The relevant field in the database is cfg.cfg_str_array

You might want however use the GNUmed client itselft to add it.

=== How to use it? ===

=== Where to discuss it? ===

You are welcome to dicuss this at the mailing list gnumed-devel@gnu.org.

=== How to know more about it? ===

Watch the blog and this space for upates.

=== How to contribute? ===

Check out the the source code from GIT. Change the code and mail the patch or merge request to gnumed-devel@gnu.org.
