Contributing to GNUmed
GNUmed is a free/open-source project, and you are more than welcome to help us make it better! There are many ways you can help…
Translate GNUmed Into Your Language
GNUmed has been translated into a few languages, but if the translation for your language doesn't exist or is out of date, you can help bring GNUmed to entire new populations simply by translating some text. See how thoroughly (if at all) GNUmed's currently ~ 1900 expressions have been translated into
your language.
A free Launchpad account will allow the above translations to be improved online. A multilingual medical office assistant with bits of time would be invaluable for the health oriented expressions, which make up ~ 2/3 of the overall, and leaving the more-technical terms to others. See
more about using GNUmed in different countries.
Report software defects
If you find bugs in GNUmed, we need you to file them in our issue tracker. Your problem may have already been reported, so it's a good idea to check to avoid filing a duplicate. Learn
more about filing bugs.
Help Others With Their Bug Reports
You can help the development team keep up with the bug reports by closing duplicates, helping to clarify reporters' problems, and confirming that you can reproduce bugs. Learn more about Launchpad's
bug management options and
bug tracker.
Identify Billing Software to Interoperate with GNUmed
People have been emphasizing the importance of billing… not that GNUmed needs to
do it, but that compatible billing software needs to be found. Please bring vendors' attention to the GNUmed
Billing page to identify how to bridge this gap.
Write Code
We welcome code contributions from anyone, whether you have a one-line fix or a big idea, a lot of experience programming or none at all. Learn more about
writing code for and
enhancing GNUmed. Here is a list of
mini projects to get you started.
Contribute Your Wisdom
Like many projects, GNUmed strives to find a better way to be successful. The last-known (most recent) revisiting was posted
here under the January 3, 2010 thread
"How much does GNUmed cost?".
